Malaysia - 2022

Despite having an extraordinary wife, it is nevertheless useful to have multiple overlapping reasons to go on a second tour in a year (and once again abandon her to look after our hoard solo). Fewer than four months after returning from Australia I had found several such reasons mostly in the shape of my then fifteen-year-old son, Killian, first among which was spending 10 days together in splendid isolation. With a minimalist bike-packing setup and a couple of new chamois, he was all set. Thankfully, as a fit and healthy sportsman, the mileage was more than within his abilities, although fueling an adolescent with sufficient calories proved almost as challenging as the ride itself!
